CeU: A Brazilian Star with a Diverse Discography (2005-2012)

CeU is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who has captivated audiences with her unique blend of bossa nova, R&B, reggae, samba, and electronic music. Born in SÃo Paulo in 1980, CeU is the daughter of composer Edgard B. PoÃas and grew up surrounded by music. She started performing on stage with major artists and exploring the repertoire of the machines (turn-of-the-century carnival music) by her late teens. She also spent some time in New York City, where she met fellow Brazilian musician AntÃnio Pinto, who would later produce her debut album.

CeU's self-titled first album was released in 2005 by O+ Music in Europe and Six Degrees Records in the US. The album was a critical and commercial success, earning her two Latin Grammy nominations and selling over 200,000 copies worldwide. The album featured songs such as "Malemolência", "Lenda", and "Concrete Jungle", which showcased her versatile and expressive voice and her eclectic musical influences. The album also included a cover of Bob Marley's "Concrete Jungle", which CeU sang in English and Portuguese.

In 2007, CeU released a Remixed EP, which featured remixes of some of her songs by DJs and producers such as Thievery Corporation, Bitter:Sweet, and Gui Boratto. The EP demonstrated CeU's appeal to a wider audience and her openness to experimentation.

CeU's second album, Vagarosa, was released in 2009 and was also produced by AntÃnio Pinto. The album was more mature and refined than her debut, reflecting her personal and artistic growth. The album featured collaborations with artists such as Luiz Melodia, Anelis AssumpÃÃo, and Jorge du Peixe. The album also explored themes such as love, nostalgia, femininity, and social issues. Some of the songs on the album were "Cangote", "Comadi", "Bubuia", and "Nascente". The album received rave reviews from critics and fans alike and earned her another Latin Grammy nomination.

CeU's third album, Caravana Sereia Bloom, was released in 2012 and was inspired by a road trip she took across Brazil with her band. The album was a musical journey that incorporated elements of rockabilly, forrÃ, cumbia, carimbÃ, and brega. The album also featured guest appearances by Curumin, Lucas Santtana, and Edgar Scandurra. Some of the songs on the album were "Falta de Ar", "Retrovisor", "Contravento", and "Asfalto e Sal". The album was praised for its creativity and diversity and earned her another Latin Grammy nomination.

CeU is one of the most talented and original artists in the contemporary Brazilian music scene. Her discography from 2005 to 2012 showcases her ability to fuse different genres and styles with elegance and authenticity. She has also established herself as a global artist who has performed in various countries and festivals around the world. CeU is a Brazilian star with a diverse discography that deserves to be heard and appreciated.
