That being said, you might be able to install WS 2008 R2 on ML350 G4P servers however, you might end up with issues related to drivers since ML350 G4P have no support for WS 2008 R2. Seethis thread for the reference.

I also try to install without using smartstart, I managed to boot the windows setup, then it was looking for the Smart Array 641 Controller. I download the given drivers by HP, but it was unable to get compatible driver yet it was saying at the HP that it was the driver for the OS version i tried to install.
And now since I am prepping the other 2003 (G4p) server for an upgrade to w2k8 next week, I instaleld PSP 8.70 with option force downgrade/reinstall to bring all drivers to same same level ... and guess what ... iLO Management Controller is missing and not reporting in HP SMH ... also massive time outs happen in SMH.
I checked the download site of HP, and I find that PSP 8.50 (27 May 2010) is the latest released for this server. So ideally you have installed a PSP which is not supported by this server (As per HP, its not tested).
